We took a trip to the coast with a camera, a tripod, three studio lights, a generator, and a vision. We drove out, did a shoot that evening during the sunset - woke up at 4:30 the next morning and did a shoot on the beach with the studio lights, and finished the day shooting some waves crashing on a nearby hook. We checked weather reports and put our faith in the weather, and that we wouldn’t run into any major problems, and it all worked out perfectly. Run-and-gun style, all shot on a Blackmagic Pocket.
I shot about half of the video on a modern Lumix lens, and the other on an antique Soviet film lens called a Helios 44-5. The Lumix lens gave sharp, clear visuals, while the Helios gave a soft quality with lots of natural light leaks, and heavy vignetting.
